The Collection Development policy articulates the resource development goals of the Oil Creek District.
These books help teens discover themselves and the world they live in.
What a wonderful world we live in!
Always looking, always seeing.
Think you know the colors in the world around you?
Have a program session and teach teens how to spot Fake news (check the author, date, sources, identifying satire, etc.) Collect a variety of Fake News stories, making sure to cover both sides of the political spectrum along with hoax photos. Teach strategies for researching sources, like reverse image source. School Library Journal has some great lesson plans as well.
Expose teens to some hidden gems! Select a bunch of interesting books and create profiles for them: use the first line, a favorite sentence, synopsis, etc. Add other relevant details as desired: genre, number of pages, etc. Challenge teens to check out the profiles and read the books.
Sometimes life is tough – these might help.
All living things have a story!
